Turkish influence in Japan
I took advantage of a very short port visit to Sasebo, Japan to trek up to Nagasaki for the day with my friend Dave, who had never been there. I couldn’t remember exactly what the Peace Museum or Peace Park looked like when I was there in 2003, so a revisit was definitely necessary.
The Peace Park is full of statues donated by various countries in celebration of peace. I was really excited to view a statue from Turkey, where after only a few Turkish lessons on Rosetta Stone I recognized the words for man and woman, adam and kadin.
